How women use the Internet?
On 8th of March we celebrate the International Women's Day. On this occasion, Gemius analysed how women in Poland, Turkey, Romania and Ukraine use the Internet. We know what is the percentage of female users in the selected countries and how much time they spend surfing the web.
Gemius analysed female online penetration and daily time spent for Internet activities in Poland, Turkey, Romania and Ukraine. The presented data include female Internet audience aged 15–69 who used personal computers and notebooks in January 2018.
Turkish women are the most active online
Within four analysed countries the highest percentage of female online users was recognised in Turkey – 84 per cent of women surf the web. This is 28 per cent more than in Ukraine where the female Internet penetration is only 56 per cent. Similar result was observed in Romania with 58 percentage of female online users, while in Poland 77 per cent of women are online via desktop computers and laptops.
Two hours daily spent on surfing the web
The most active female audience was registered in Poland. Daily, Polish women spend three hours (2:47:04) on surfing the Web. Romanian women stay online about 43 minutes less compared to Polish females (2:04:55), however, the time still exceeds two hours. Only in Ukraine and Turkey the average time spent online is less (1:58:18 and 1:55:09 respectively).
